PARACHINAR: Four persons were injured in an explosion at the ammunition depot of the Levies Force here on Tuesday, a senior official said.
The blast occurred at the ammunition depot of the Levies Force located near the office of Kurram Agency’s political agent. Four persons who sustained injuries in the explosion were shifted to the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Parachinar. “The building caught fire while the explosions continued for an hour,” Political Agent Ikramullah Khan said. He added that an inquiry had been ordered into the incident. The houses near the site of the explosion were vacated, he said, adding, the firefighters extinguished the inferno after hectic efforts. Sources said rockets, landmines and light weaponry had been stored at the depot.
